Madam Seng Meow Eng Susan, aged 69, shares her cherished memories of the Chingay parades 20 years ago. She used to attend the parades with her daughters who were part of the School of the Arts, located at one end of Orchard Road. She recalled how excited she was, with the vibrant colours, elaborate floats and energetic performances that brought the streets to life. Madam Seng had witnessed two parades along Orchard Road 20 years ago as well as another held at the F1 circuit in recent years. She often tried to attend despite the crowd as she enjoyed the electrifying atmosphere with the crowd cheering the performers, who had clearly put in a lot of time and effort in their costumes and choreography to present the performances. These experiences left a lasting impression on her.
These are precious and unforgettable moments spent with her loved ones. They remind her of the joy and unity during the Chinese New Year festivities.
