What is the preferred story length?
The recommended short story length is from 200-500 words. The language of publication is English.
Are there specific themes or angles that seniors should focus on when sharing their stories?Narratives can be the older adults’ personal heartfelt memories or life experience. If the story is written by a younger person, the writer may write about memories he/she has of the older adult. Stories can be inspirational, about personal triumphs or intergenerational connections. They can highlight themes of endurance, endeavours, escape or enlightenment. Extreme or offensive opinions should be avoided.
Can stories be submitted in multiple languages, and which languages are accepted?
Stories must be posted in English.
Can a third person post a story about another older adult?
Yes, the story can be about another older adult such as a parent, grandparent or close kin. Writers must read the Privacy Policy to ensure any information or content shared are in line with the policy.
Will the content be used for other materials other than this website?
Your privacy is important to us. We do encourage that you read the Privacy Policy before posting any stories.
Is it compulsory to submit a photo?
We highly recommend including 1-2 images as these will attract viewership and enliven the story.
Is there any template, guide, or sample story available to support seniors in crafting their submissions?
You are encouraged to explore the many wonderful, published stories on the site for reference.
Will submitted stories be published immediately?
Submitted stories will first be reviewed by the Administrator and edited where applicable, before being published. This process may take 5-7 days. If you change your mind or would like to edit it, please contact the Administrator at agewellsuss@gmail.com. You may request to remove your story any time after publishing.
