Stepping into the stage gave her a strong sense of accomplishment – a reminder that age is no barrier to passion, confidence and contribution
Madam Poh Har’s participation in Chingay was a deeply meaningful experience for her. As an active senior both within our centre and in the wider community, she truly enjoyed performing and being actively involved through the Active Ageing Centre, where she found joy in staying engaged, purposeful, and connected with others. Stepping onto the stage gave her a strong sense of accomplishment — a reminder that age is no barrier to passion, confidence, and contribution.
Through Chingay, Mdm Poh Har also felt a deep sense of pride in being part of Singapore’s multicultural celebration. In the recent Chingay performance, she was delightfully dressed as an ondeh ondeh, a role she embraced with laughter and enthusiasm. Actively participating in Chingay beyond the centre, she relished every rehearsal and performance opportunity. Beyond the performance itself, she cherished the process of learning alongside her peers and with the support of them. These shared moments strengthened her bonds with others and made the experience even more memorable, filling her heart with joy, pride, and gratitude.
